Carl Engel is an experienced commercial litigator who has advocated on behalf of numerous business clients before state and federal courts and arbitration panels. He spent the first decade of his career representing major corporations and big businesses in lawsuits and arbitrations at two nationally renowned law firms in Center City, Philadelphia. He handled hundreds of business lawsuits during that time, ranging from heated partnership disputes to complex insurance-coverage litigation.
In 2022, he founded The Engel Law Firm, with the purpose of bringing that same sophisticated legal counsel to family-owned businesses and start-ups. He has tried dozens of cases and has made countless arguments before the courts, and he is willing to litigate aggressively to protect his clients' interests.
When he is not practicing law, Carl enjoys spending time with his family and friends and translating literature. He is an active member of St. Malachy Roman Catholic Parish in North Philadelphia and Friends of the Wissahickon, as well as a proud supporter of the Free Library of Philadelphia and Catholic Relief Services. He is fluent in Portuguese and Russian.
While in law school, Carl was named a Fellow of the Rubin Public Interest Honor Society on account of his having worked hundreds of hours pro bono on behalf of Face to Face, a legal-aid clinic located in Philadelphia’s Germantown neighborhood.
